Teruel PDO Ham for trade buyers
Delicatessens, retail and food service
A ham-making family, a Designation of Origin
Our family has been making ham for more than sixty years. Today the third generation of the Gómez family runs Jamones Sierra Palomera, founded in 1995 in Monreal del Campo (Teruel), where we produce and cure all of our Teruel PDO ham.
Teruel Ham was Spain’s first ham Designation of Origin (1984) and is the only one for white-breed ham. Every piece is certified by the Regulatory Council: raised, produced and cured in the province of Teruel, branded with the eight-pointed star and sealed with a numbered tag.
Why our ham
- Certified 50% Duroc genetics: 100% Duroc sire; Landrace, Large White or crossbred dam.
- Naturally cured for at least 20 months in our drying house at 940 m above sea level.
- Low in salt, allergen-free.
- Piece-by-piece traceability, from farm to slicing.
- Limited, family-scale production, with consistent quality from piece to piece.
